Drink Wine, See Stars
Those looking for something a bit extra down under can a particularly special event on the South Australian calendar at the Barossa under the Stars event, held on February 25th at the Barossa Arts and Convention Centre in the town of Tanunda.
Set in the famous wine-producing valley north of Adelaide, the al fresco event stars Michael Crawford, who played the lead role in phantom of the opera, along with a 34 piece orchestra.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in the area can enter the outdoor arena from 14.00 local time, with the concert starting at 20.00.
Tickets start at AU$99 (£40) and visitors should bring a picnic and some sun cream.
Apart from the concert, the valley offers a range of winery tours that trace the history and variety of the wine business in the Barossa, with familiar labels such as Penfolds, Lindemans and Jacob's Creek being produced here.
The sweet-toothed are also well catered for at the famous glazed fruits shop in Angaston, while the charming city of Adelaide is just a couple of hours away.
