Ekka in Fraternity
Visitors to Brisbane in August will be able to enjoy no less than ten days of festivities at the Royal Queensland Agricultural Show, where the produce and livestock from up country comes to the city alongside a huge range of shopping and eating opportunities.
Known as the Ekka, the event takes place in the RNA showgrounds in the city, with organisers setting entry prices at AU$22 (£9) for adults and $12 for children up to age 14, with family tickets (two adults and two children) available for $56 dollars.
Those even remotely interested in livestock will see not just sheep and goats but more exotic creatures such as Llamas, fish and birds, while there are plenty of dogs and horses to entertain the crowds.
Organisers have also promised a shopping extravaganza, with everything from the latest gadgets to wool and dairy products.
All this comes complete with entertainment, music and food.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Brisbane will also be able to enjoy the sub-tropical climate, beaches and laid-back Aussie atmosphere of this vibrant and interesting city.
