Fine and Dendy Those heading down under who love films will get a good chance to indulge their passion in Brisbane as the the Flickerfest Short Film Festival hits town in March.

Screened in the Dendy Cinema on the 1st and 4th of March, the travelling festival will feature a range of Australian and international films.

According to organisers, the films include offerings starring Cate Blanchett and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Entry to the cinema is AU$13 (£5.21) for adults or AU$8 for senior citizens.

Apart from the films, the sub-tropical city of Brisbane offers plenty for visitors, with fine weather, beaches and boat trips on the Brisbane River.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in the city can also include Brisbane in a wider tour of the east coast of Australia.

While the Gold Coast, with its famous surfing lies to the south, a trip north leads into the tropics, with Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef a particular highlight.
