Those who like there blues and roots may find it a long way to go, but it's well worth the trip to get there as Fremantle in Western Australia hosts the West Coast Blues and Roots Festival on March 31st and April 1st.
Held by the azure waters of the Indian Ocean on the esplanade, the event will see over 50 acts performing on three different stages.
According to organisers, artists lined up include blues singer Bo Diddley, reggae performer Lee Perry and jazz soul singer Amos Lee, alongside a number of Australian performers.
Tickets for one day are AU$105 (£42) or AU$170 for two days.
When not at the festival, visitors staying in cheap hotels in Fremantle or Perth have a huge range of things to see and do.
These vary from enjoying the nightlife in Perth's North bridge district, visiting the Round House with its live cannon on the Fremantle quayside, Fremantle jail, numerous white sandy beaches and boat trips to nearby Rottnest island.
Getting around the Perth-Fremantle metropolitan area is easy with comprehensive and cheap rail links, while the seafood is outstanding.
