Sydney Visitors Treated to Open-air Opera
People staying in cheap hotels in Sydney in January will be able to attend a unique open-air celebration of culture and class.
The Mazda Opera in the Domain event will be held on January 31st and is free to attend.
Held in one of Sydney's most popular outdoor areas, this event features performances of some of opera's greatest works – this year the once-act pieces Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci.
Throughout the evening visitors will hear the vocal talents of performers including Nicole Youl and Amelia Farrugia, as well as the Opera Australia Chorus and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
Regardless of the events taking place, the Domain is always worth a visit for tourists in Sydney, boasting almost four hectares of public land.
Built in response to growing demand for inner-city recreation space, the park includes a leisure swimming pool, indoor and outdoor multi-use courts and a children's play area.
