Time for a Feast in Adelaide

For nearly a decade the good burghers of Adelaide have been enjoying the cultural and social tour de force that is the Adelaide Feast, a lesbian and gay festival that kicks off the Australian summer.

From 3rd November to 26th this year Feast will be convened. Organiser Fanny Jacobsen says that the event challenges "the status quo of mainstream culture by providing events that encourage and celebrate the outsider in all of us".

Feast is a cultural buffet of different influences, from theatre and cabaret, to music and drag, the visual arts and film. It seeks to reflect the style of its host city and aims to showcase its culture, climate, food and wine, and lifestyle..

Special events include a gay and lesbian pride march in the early evening, which will see thousands of people convene later on the city's Fowlers Live venue and its surrounding sheltered courtyard.

The event has a number of accommodation and transport sponsors offering special deals to Feast visitors, which could mean that revellers get the best deals on cheap hotels.
