With winter approaching many will be turning their thoughts to the snowy slopes of the Alps, with the Powerade Pleasure Jam, running from November 9th to the 12th providing an exciting start to the season for snowboarders.
The contest takes place on the Dachstein glacier above the Austrian town of the same name, with extreme sports enthusiasts being able to watch both professional and amateur snowboarders defying gravity as they perform a series of daring manoeuvres.
With DJs, concerts and film screenings there is plenty of partying on the pistes to go with the boarding, making it an all-round entertainment experience tailor made for alpine sports fans.
Dachstein has plenty of accommodation, including lots of cheap hotels.
It has a variety of skiing and other winter sports facilities, with something for everyone from beginners through to experts, as well as a backdrop of stunning Alpine scenery.
