Go to Belgium to Explore Britain
Visitors staying in hotels in Belgium this winter will have the opportunity to take part in the unusual experience of going abroad to explore their home culture, as the Fine Arts Museum in Ghent hosts an exhibition celebrating 200 years of British art.
British Vision - Constable to Bacon, explores the most significant work of Britain's most important artists between 1750 and 1950.
Every major artist is represented at the show, from Thomas Gainsborough and William Blake to Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon.
The exhibition, which runs until January 13th, will bring together over 300 pieces of art from public and private collections across Britain, including watercolours, prints, drawings, sculpture and photographs.
British Vision marks the reopening of the Ghent Museum following its renovation and is being held exactly ten years after the Paris-Brussels/Brussels-Paris exhibition of 1997.
Art lovers can find the Ghent Museum of Fine Arts in the Citadelpark region of the city.
