Haute Cuisine Takes on New Meaning in Bruges

Haute cuisine takes on new meaning in Bruges Belgiun chefs have become the first people to eat a whole gastronomic meal 50 metres from the ground and dangling from a crane, according to latest reports.

Benji Fun, a company which specialises in spectacular or extreme attractions, used the event to market the service internationally, reports Zee News.

The chefs were fastened with six-point safety jackets on their race car seats, which are also fitted with safety cables.

Security guards accompany the cooks at all time, with organisers claiming that this is "just in case one of the party people gets too drunk".

The chefs were selected from a number of cities in Belgium and served oysters and potatoes in a range of styles.

Luc Mees, a restaurant owner in Bruges, commented that eating in the sky has its down sides, especially as he suffers from vertigo.

"It wouldn't be ideal for me to eat in the sky because I couldn't get anything through my throat," Mr Mees told Zee News.

If a meal in the air does not appeal to you then why not sample some of the fantastic cuisine that can be found in the many hotels in Bruges?
