Head to Bruges for Jazz Spectacular

Head to Bruges for jazz spectacular Tourists usually head to Bruges to enjoy the pretty scenery and well-preserved architecture, but the city will be offering a different type of holiday this October.

Running between October 5th and 8th, Bruges hosts its jazz festival, inventively titled Jazz Bruges, which brings some of the most popular artists to the city.

Jazz is growing in popularity throughout Europe, with concerts held from Prague to the Brecon Beacons, so now might be a good time for music fans to find out what all the fuss is about.

This year's programme include Bobo Stenson and Soweto Kinch, while real enthusiasts may wish to book into one of the city's cheap hotels and catch the three days of laid-back styles and smooth grooves.

Bruges is an ancient city, which dates its history 2000 years back to a Gallic Roman settlement.

The tourist board points out that the city centre was recently added to Unesco's World Heritage List, with areas of the original medieval structure still standing, intertwined with modern architecture.
