Around the town of Ypres, commemorations are ongoing for the 90th anniversary of the third battle of Ypres, better known as Passchendale.
This will be a time and place of remembrance for the half a million who died fighting in the battle in 1917, with October's events including a memorial to the Anzacs who died in the battle, followed by a Rugby match on October 6th 2007, Whatsonwhen states.
Harry Patch, now 109 and the last living British soldier to have fought in the battle, recently visited the scene.
