Snow Way You Can Miss This

Winter is coming, which for some people means heading off to the sun, but for others means lots of fun with snow and ice.

A great opportunity for just that is being presented in the city of Bruges from November 24th right through until January 14th next year.

The Snow and Ice sculpture festival offers visitors the chance to see huge frozen creations, such as the Ice Palace that was carved out last year, as well as a host of smaller items.

Entry is €11 (£7.43) for adults and €7 for children aged six to 12.

The festival takes place on the Station Square, allowing visitors to combine a festival visit with a stroll round the historic city of Bruges.

Other attractions in the city include the historic centre (a Unesco world heritage site), a number of museums including Choco-story, a great historical tour for chocoholics, plus the half man brewery, all proof that when it comes to Belgium's famed beer and chocolates, Bruges will sell nobody short.

The city has plenty of accommodation for visitors, including cheap hotels.
