Who Loves Techno?

Who loves techno? Techno-loving visitors to Ghent this weekend will be able to hit this year's homage to the musical art form at the Flanders Expo exhibition area.

Each year on the October 21st Ghent rocks to the sounds of the annual I Love Techno event, which is now entering its tenth year and has grown to an attraction that draws 35,000 or more dance-mad Europeans.

This year's line-up includes German techno legends Kraftwerk, Laurent Garnier, 2 Many DJs and many more on five stages around the venue. Gates open at 18:30 Local Time with the first music firing up half an hour later.

Getting to the Flanders Expo couldn't be easier, a shuttle tram service is running from Ghent's central Sint-Pieters railway station, which is in reach of the city's cheap hotels. There is parking at the venue but it has its limits so visitors should arrive early to be sure of a space.

The first I Love Techno kicked off in the town's Vooruit nightclub in 1996 and has since grown into an event with Pan-European appeal.
