Montreal in the Fast Lane
Motorsport fans thinking of visiting Canada will find few better times than June to visit Montreal, with the Formula 1 Grand Prix taking place at the famous Gilles Villeneuve Circuit.
The event takes place over the weekend of June 8th to 10th, with the first two days occupied with qualifying for grid places before the race itself on the last day.
British visitors staying in cheap Montreal hotels will be keen to see how rising star Lewis Hamilton gets on in his latest debut season outing, while McClaren team-mate Fernando Alonso will be hoping for a victory to help him retain his world title.
Ticket prices vary from $495 (£218) at the prime viewing site by the pits and starting grid to $195 at the hairpin.
Apart from the Grand Prix, Montreal offers a wide range of attractions for visitors.
These include a wealth of museums tracing art and history, a wide range of culinary options and a rich francophone culture, with Montreal being the capital of French-speaking Quebec.
