Toronto to Turn Inside Out
Toronto is gearing up for one of the largest gay film festivals in the world this May.
Some 30,000 movie buffs are expected to attend the 17th Inside Out Toronto Lesbian and Gay Film and Video Festival, which will feature more than 250 cinematic creations.
Amateurs and experts have submitted a variety of genres to be screened at the festival between May 17th and 27th this year, including documentaries, feature films and installations.
Event organiser Inside Out is hoping to use the festival once again as a vehicle to highlight the diversity of international filmmaking with a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual and transgender slant.
Various awards are also up for grabs at the festival, with entrants voted for by both industry experts and audience members.
Last year saw French director Christian Faure take the Showcase Award for Best Feature Film or Video with his wartime epic A Love to Hide.
And organisers are convinced that this year's participants will once again wow audiences and critics.
Toronto has a lot more to offer, so it may be a good idea to extend that stay in one of the city's cheap hotels and explore the Canadian city outside the cinema as well.
