Cypriot Summer Sounds and Sunshine
Fans of food and art may wish to travel to Cyprus this summer, to take in the sights, sounds and tastes of the Pissouri Summer Festival.
The annual event, which takes place in July each year, will see theatre, dance and live music in the local amphitheatre.
In addition, local delicacies and plenty of drink will be available throughout the town, as well as at the event.
Taking place in the south-facing village of Pissouri, set high on the hillside some 1000 feet above sea level, the event should be a great chance to soak up some Cypriot sunshine.
Cyprus, nicknamed the golden apple, is a great place to soak up some ancient history, with temples and monuments to the gods of ancient Greece scattered about the island.
Over its 10,000 year history, the likes of Cleopatra and Alexander the Great have set foot on Cyprus' golden shores, while legend says that love goddess Aphrodite made it her home.
