Greek but Not Tragic
Those who love their Greek tragedies and other plays can indulge their passion in the most fitting surroundings in Cyprus every August.
Running from July 6th to August 6th, the International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama takes place in several locations on the island, but mainly in Paphos, where the Ancient Odeon, dating back to the 1st or 2nd century, offers the audience the chance to enjoy performances in the same manner as theatre-goers back then.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Paphos can also enjoy a range of activities and sites of interest.
The town itself is a United Nations world heritage site, with many ancient sites, such as the Tombs of the Kings and the Castle of Paphos.
As a coastal town, Paphos also offers visitors the chance to enjoy sandy beaches and the warm Mediterranean Sea under the hot sun.
