Autumn Festival Bring Music to Heart of Europe
Prague's Autumn International Music Festival is set to take place again this year, becoming into the 16th edition of the event.
Having become a valued part of Prague's enviable culture and also the European musical heritage, the festival receives thousands of visitors each year.
In this year's event nine foreign ensembles, three domestic orchestras and three choirs will perform at the 20 concerts which make up the festival.
There will also be a special celebration for the 100th birthday anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich, where his famous symphonies, film music and other pieces will be performed.
Over the previous 15 instalments, the events have seen 79 orchestras, 110 conductors, 131 singers, 61 pianists and 25 violinists, with total numbers of attendees around 270,000.
Furthermore, millions who are not fortunate enough to find a ticket tune in to the festival on radio and television around the year.
