Celebrate New Year's Eve in Prague
People planning to book cheap hotels in Prague for a memorable New Year's Eve celebration will be offered plenty of entertainment and activities in the city.
Every year, the people of Prague and foreign visitors gather in the Old Town Square to drink warm punch and mulled wine, tuck into hot food and see in the new year.
Arguably the highlight of the celebrations during this period is the fireworks display on New Year's Day, which normally begins at around 18:00 and can be seen from the bridges and banks of the Vltava river.
Culture vultures will have plenty of offerings to choose from, such as the ballet performance of Goldilocks at the Stavovske Divadlo.
There will also be a New Year's Eve gala at the Prague State Opera and a classical music concert by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra at the Rudolfinum.
Younger visitors may fancy heading to a bar or nightclub for a party on New Year's Eve, with venues such as the Lucerna Music Bar set to welcome plenty of revellers as the end of 2009 draws near.
