Czech Centre Opens in Prague
The first Czech Centre that is actually based in the Czech Republic is set to open its doors this month in the capital city of Prague.
There are already a number of other Czech Centres across the world, including one in New York and Moscow, reports Radio Prague.
Czech Centres promote Czech culture and provide a focus for many local Czech communities all over the world.
"We would like to be open windows, to Europe and to other countries, and to use the connections of our centres abroad to present other artists in the Czech Republic," Jon Bondy, director of the Czech Centres told the radio station.
He went on to say that he hopes that the centres will promote other artists in the Czech Republic.
The centre in Prague will also offer a literary night for its opening on April 20th, which seeks to promote Czech arts and literature.
The last Czech Centres to be opened were in Rome and Madrid and October will see the opening of a centre in Tokyo.
