Eastern Europe Proves Popular As Brits Book Cheap Hotels
Eastern Europe has increased in popularity this year, research has shown, urging people to book cheap hotels in Prague and other cities.
Price comparison site, Cheapflights UK, has revealed that 52 per cent more people have searched for flights to Eastern Europe than they did last year.
The top destination search by travellers was Dubrovnik, up by 106 per cent, closely followed by Warsaw, up by 102 per cent. Prague was the third most popular, with an increase of 62 per cent of people searching for flights to the Czech capital.
Nadine Hallak, spokesperson for Cheapflights UK, said: "Last year showed a recessional shift toward long and mid-haul destinations, and as the economic downturn continues to linger, travellers are casting their nets a bit closer to home where the offering in price is similar to that of mid-haul, and the attractions are broad and endless."
Visitors booking cheap hotels in Prague can visit the beautiful Prague castle and enjoy the city's plentiful shops, bars and restaurants.
