Free Film Series Launched in Prague

Free film series launched in Prague Travellers hoping to take an affordable city break can now not only take advantage of cheap hotels in Prague, but are also able to enjoy free entertainment in the Czech capital.

Taking place every Wednesday evening, the Prague European Parliament Information Office is to host a series of free film nights at the historic European House, in the heart of the historic city centre.

Rather than the usual Hollywood fare on offer at normal cinemas, tourists and locals alike are to be shown a number of acclaimed films focusing on the history of the Czech Republic and Eastern Europe.

In December and January, these will include The Lives of Others and the Cannes Film Festival Award-winning The Silence of Lorna, the Prague Monitor has reported.

The organisers of the free night are expected to announce other upcoming films over the next few weeks, thereby giving guests staying in cheap hotels in Prague the chance to stick to their budgets while taking in some culture.

Prague is also home to a number of other top cultural venues, including the National Theatre and the Rudolfinum, where the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra play.
