Prague As You Like It

Every year, Prague opens up some of its most spectacular venues to host a massive celebration of the works of William Shakespeare.

The Summer Shakespeare Festival, running from June 21st to September 14th, is primarily based at Prague Castle but also takes place at the Lichtenstein Palace, as well as at the castles in Brno and Bratislava.

Visitors, who may be looking for cheap hotels in Prague, will be able to witness a host of performances based on some of Shakespeare's most loved plays, including The Tempest, As You Like It, Othello, Twelfth Night and The Merchant of Venice.

Elsewhere, a number of photographic exhibitions and charity events will also take place across Prague to entertain those unable to nab a ticket for one of the main performances.

While the plays are not performed in English, overseas visitors regularly attend the festival just to soak up the atmosphere of the event and enjoy the beautiful settings of the Czech Republic's various castles.
