Prague Hosts Bohemian Carnival
People who have booked a cheap hotel in Prague for a romantic Valentine's weekend might be interested in joining the crowds of the Bohemian Carnival.
Running until February 16th, the medieval carnival celebrates the "human joy and gregariousness" culture of Prague's locals, according to the Prague tourist board.
There is a programme of events run by the carnival that span day and night to suit all tastes. Visitors can watch street events, attend art shows and enjoy the local cuisine.
Galactico is an event of art displays and evening parties for adults, while for food fans there will be a number of stalls, including Grand Table, a presentation by the Prague Regional Association of Cooks and Confectioners.
Many of Prague's restaurants will also take part in the Cuisine d'Alchimiste, the main food feast at the carnival.
The main street event and highlight of the carnival is the spectacle of Candelion - Grand Defile, featuring masks and lanterns.
