Prague Presents Dance Festival
People with a passion for dance in all forms will be heading to Prague in the first week of July to be part of a major festival being held in the city.
The New Prague Dance Festival will be held from July 1st to 7th in the Theatre Broadway, an art nouveau building in the heart of the city not far from attractions including Tyn cathedral.
Participants from all around the world are invited to take part in the festival and show off various styles of dancing, from classic and folk to contemporary hip-hop and dramatic dance.
There is a competitive element to the festival, with dancers and companies from across the globe vying for the Grand Prix Praha, which is awarded on the decision of a jury consisting of representatives from prestigious international dance schools.
Some 470 performance groups have participated in the New Prague Dance Festival in the past, featuring some 5,500 dancers and 1,200 choreographed shows.
People who prefer theatre to dance should book their cheap hotels in Prague from June 25th and head to Prague castle and gardens for this year's Summer Shakespeare Festival.
