Prague's Plays As You Like Them
For travellers who love culture, beautiful architecture and the bard, Prague's Summer Shakespeare Festival might make their mid-summer night's dreams come true.
Taking place at the lavish Supreme Burgrave's house at the Prague Castle, the festival shows a host of the bard's works from June to September each year.
The event features plays preformed "under the open sky" with ancient backdrops and has become a "major cultural event in the Czech republic", according to its organisers.
Plays appearing at the event this year are Othello, The Merchant of Venice, Twelth Night and As You like It.
Prague been renowned for its architectural beauty since the middle ages, having been referred to as "golden", "hundred-spired", and "the crown of the world", according to the Prague Information Service.
In more recent times good weather and great views have led to the city becoming a popular destination for tourists from all over Europe, while cheap alcohol and hostels has also attracted a younger generation of holidaymaker.
