See Some Japanese Art in Prague
Art lovers staying in cheap hotels in Prague this summer should pay a visit to the city's National Gallery to see an exhibition dedicated to Japanese landscape painting.
The show will be open at the Zbraslav Chateau exhibition space until July 6th.
Rather than setting the display out in chronological order, curators at the National Gallery of Prague have opted to arrange it by theme, exploring different aspects of Japanese landscape painting.
One of the main motivations of the exhibition is to determine whether the paintings are intended as a realistic depiction of a landscape or as an interpretation.
Visitors can explore a total of seven sections of the display, which bring together around 150 works representing modern era Japan from the 18th to the 20th centuries.
Until August 9th this year, an exhibition organised by the National Gallery of Prague will be open at St George's Convent focusing on the legacy of Josef Hlavka, one of the Czech Republic's most significant scientific and cultural figures.
