Party Time in Denmark
Party animals should head to the city of Aalborg in Denmark this spring for the annual carnival parade.
Taking place in May each year, the Aalborg Carnival is the largest in northern Europe and the Grand Parade involved thousands of people dressed in colourful costumes.
The Grand Parade starts from four locations across the city, converging on the harbour to welcome the King of Carnival, who leads the crowd on to the Kildeparken city park.
A huge party is during the festivities in the Kildeparken city park and this year's event is expected to be even more spectacular than usual, as Carnival in Aalborg celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2007.
Highlights of the 2007 festival include the Battle of Carnival Bands, featuring bands from Denmark and around the world, the children's parade and the Party in Kildeparken, where music, dance and entertainment will be provided on four stages.
This year's Karnevali Aalborg takes place on May 25th and 26th 2007, with as many as 25,000 expected to take part in the Grand Parade.
Aalborg, an industrial and commercial centre in Denmark, has excellent amenities, cheap hotels and some beautiful architecture.
