The P-lace to Be

The p-lace to be Visitors to the town of Tonder in southern Denmark will be able to enjoy the lace festival between June 1st and 3rd 2007.

Those interested in the art of lacemaking can enjoy three days of lectures (some in English), workshops and excursions as they explore the craft.

Fashion shows are also part of the programme, while there is also a lace museum open in Tonder, dedicated to the long-standing tradition of lacecraft in the town.

Apart from the lace, Tonder has plenty of attractions for visitors staying in cheap hotels.

The town has a sleepy, traditional, picture book feel about it, which is one of the reasons why visitors may hear a lot of bells and see plenty of confetti during their trip.

Tonder has become something of a Gretna-green style wedding capital, with many Germans crossing the nearby border to avoid the extra red tape required for a marriage in their own country and tying the knot in this pretty town.
