Cheap Hotels in Helsinki - News

Oh Lordi!

Oh Lordi! Fans of Eurovision who fancy the live experience will be able to see the event live in Helsinki this May, with the final taking place on Saturday May 12th 2007, before which there are preliminaries during the week such as the dress rehearsals and semi-finals.

The city hosts the event after Finnish monster rockers Lordi strutted their stuff, unfolded their wings and won over the judges in a never to be forgotten night in Athens last year.

Visitors to the Finnish capital will now be able to see if this year's hosts can somehow match either the song or the costumes, whether Britain can produce a winning song for the first time in a decade and guess which country will end up with nil points.

Apart from the event itself, Helsinki has much to offer visitors staying in cheap hotels.

These vary from Korkeasaari zoo, one of the oldest in the world and home to many exotic creatures (though none as scary as Lordi), to the spectacular gothic Uspenski cathedral.
