Party 'til the Sun Doesn't Go Down
Visitors who fancy all all-night party with a difference can have an all-day one instead on the fringes of the Arctic Circle in midsummer.
That's what's on offer in the Finnish town of Rovaniemi in the festival of Jutajaiset, which runs from June 22nd to the 1st of July, offering a wide range of local entertainment as traditional Sami music, art and culture all help create a great party atmosphere under the ever-present sun.
Different events will be held in halls, churches and open-air venues.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels will be able to enjoy the nightless fun, while enjoying local hospitality and food (anyone for reindeer?), not to mention discovering more about the culture of the Sami who dwell in the sub-polar regions of Scandinavia.
One of the venues, Sampi Square, has been renamed Lordi Square after the Finnish Monster Rock band that won last year's Eurovision Song Contest.
