Those who enjoy choral music have an excellent reason to visit the Finnish city of Vaasa in May, when the city hosts its Choir Festival.
Staged in a wide range of venues around the city, from churches and concert halls to schools and restaurants, a huge number of singers, between two and three thousand according to festival organisers, will be performing, having come from all over Europe.

Being a port city on the west coat, Vaasa has close connections with Sweden and Swedish is widely spoken here, offering visitors an insight into both countries as well as a chance to enjoy the coastal scenery.
