Vaasa Great Place to Go
Those who enjoy choral music have an excellent reason to visit the Finnish city of Vaasa in May, when the city hosts its Choir Festival.
Staged in a wide range of venues around the city, from churches and concert halls to schools and restaurants, a huge number of singers, between two and three thousand according to festival organisers, will be performing, having come from all over Europe.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels will also be able to see and do many other interesting things in Vaasa.
Being a port city on the west coat, Vaasa has close connections with Sweden and Swedish is widely spoken here, offering visitors an insight into both countries as well as a chance to enjoy the coastal scenery.
Alternatively, there is always that most Scandinavian of activities to enjoy - spending an afternoon in a nice warm sauna.
