A Magny-ficent Climax
All good things come to an end, but for fans of the World Superbike Championship the 2007 contest could be in for a tantalising and nerve-jangling climax.
October 7th 2007 sees the final round of the championship take place at Magny Cours in the centre of France, when thousands will line the stands for the 13th and last race in the season and enjoy the thrill of seeing the competitors down the straight, lean at crazy angles going round the tight bends and generally scorch lots of rubber at very high volumes.
British fans staying in cheap hotels in the area may be particularly keen to see if Jamie Toseland can stay top ahead of Japan's Noriuki Haga, Italian Max Biaggi and Australian Troy Bayliss.
Magny Cours is located in the Burgundy region, a name that will instantly resonate with wine lovers.
As the race comes at harvest time, motorsport fans who also like a glass or two could add a winery visit to the itinerary.
