A Vine Thing to Do
Wine lovers looking for a winter attraction may find just what they are looking for in Bordeaux at the Vinorama museum.
Open until June 2007, it costs €5 (£3.36) to enter the world of wine history, where the famous product of the city is brought to something like life with 75 waxwork figures recreating the life and times of winemakers down the centuries.
To bring things right up to the present day, the museum has its own wine school and of course offers tastings and the chance to buy various kinds of wine.
Outside the museum, visitors to Bordeaux will finds many attractions outside the rim of a wine glass.
The city has a wide range of attractive architecture, with 18th century buildings ranged around a Roman town lay-out, while the city has many museums, not just dedicated to wine.
Bordeaux has plenty of accommodation, including cheap hotels.
