Cher Big Chance

Cher big chance Spring in Cherbourg sees a big chance for aspiring film makers from Britain and Ireland to make it big in France at the Cherbourg-Octeville Festival of British and Irish Film.

Held for the 21st time from March 14th to the 28th, the event will include a feature competition for directors who have made no more than two films, a short film competition for students and a poster competition.

Film buffs can enjoy the work of these directors at the Odeon in Cherbourg and the Palace in the nearby small town of Equeurdreville.

Apart from the festival, visitors staying in cheap hotels in the area can enjoy a wide range of things to see and do.

Those with an interest in history can head to Bayeux to see the famous tapestry, while a more recent invasion heading in the opposite direction can be relived at a number of museums, memorials and cemeteries that commemorate D-Day.
