Ernst Exhibition to Open in Paris

Ernst exhibition to open in Paris People with a passion for modern art will be booking their cheap hotels in Paris soon to see an exhibition dedicated to Max Ernst.

Born in Bruhl, Germany in 1891, Ernst was one of the pioneers of the revolutionary Dada and Surrealist art movements.

The exhibition in Paris, which will be open at the Musee d'Orsay from June 30th to September 13th, will showcase a series of collages that Ernst created between the years of 1933 and 1936.

This period of the artist's career saw him take great influence from the drawings, illustrations and pieces of graphic art that were used in books, magazines, newspapers and advertisements from 1850 onwards.

Separated into sections for each day of the week, the series of collages shows the inspiration that Ernst took from artists including Gustave Dore and JJ Grandville.

The exhibition is arriving in Paris after a tour that has already taken it to Bruhl, Hamburg and Madrid.
