Evolve in Cold Water
For those who fancy doing something really daring this winter, the town of Tignes in the Rhone-Alpes area of France could be the place to go.
Starting on December the 1st, the ice-diving season begins on Tignes Lake, where brave souls can dive through holes into the cold water explore the depths beneath.
If this sounds dangerous, visitors should have no fears: the activity is run by the Evolution 2 club, who supply training, equipment (including a thick wetsuit) and supervision.
According to Skipressworld, dives cost €80 (£54) for a night dive or €130 for a package of one day and one night dive.
Once back above the ice, chilled out visitors staying in cheap hotels in the area will have a variety of other things to see and do, including numerous winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding, with the slopes served by a variety of lifts, underground and funicular railways.
