Formula Burgundy

Formula Burgundy Motorsport fans who fancy a trip to Burgundy this summer can combine the red-hot action of Formula One with the historic grandeur and wonderful wines of the region.

The famous circuit of Magny-Cours will host the French Grand Prix on Sunday July 1st, the eighth race in the 2007 schedule.

Fans can enjoy grandstand views at the circuit to see who will follow in the footsteps, or rather tyre marks, of last year's winner, the now retired Michael Schumacher.

With the German ace now retired, the likes of Kimmi Riakkonen and Fernando Alonso will be battling it out for the title, while British new-boy Lewis Hamilton will be looking to enhance his growing reputation.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels will also be able to enjoy the many attractions of this mid-France region, with the famous burgundy vineyards being close by.

Also close to the circuit is the historic town of Nevers, which dates back to Roman times and has many historic buildings.
