Get Your Ribs Tickled in Paris

Paris will be showing that it is about more than art, romance and good food in a couple of months' time as it hosts its annual comedy festival.

More than 35 venues across the French capital will get into the light-hearted atmosphere for the 'Paris Fait sa Comedie', or Paris Does Comedy, event.

There will be a variety of performers and artists at the festival, from experienced and established comedians to new, up-and-coming figures on the scene.

While French-speakers will be the most likely to get full enjoyment out of the festival, there will also be plenty to keep the linguistically challenged entertained, such as mime artists, performance comics and musical shows.

In total, there will be around 300 different performers plying their trade throughout the city, in major venues such as Le Grand Rex but also in intimate bars and cafes.

People staying in cheap hotels in Paris can enjoy the festival between March 27th and April 4th.

People visiting the city in this period may also have the chance to see Alban Berg's opera Wozzeck, which will be showing at the Opera Bastille at various dates in April.
