Intergalactic War Draws to a Close in Paris
The last chance for travellers to see a vast array of robots, aliens, spaceships and planets in a galaxy far, far away is approaching this August.
Paris' Cite des Sciences has been hosting the Star Wars exhibition, full of memorabilia from George Lucas' double trilogy, since late 2005, with the exhibition closing its doors on August 27th 2006.
Fans of the sci-fi spectacular have flocked to the show, which has over 150 original objects and hundreds of drawings, models, props and costumes on display, with giant projections recreating the atmosphere of the 12 Star Wars planets.
Star Wars' special effects are also celebrated in the exhibition, with demonstrations on the technicalities of creating a landscape, filming a combat scene and creating a new creature – with homage to Industrial Light and Magic, George Lucas' own effects company.
Lovers of the movie who didn't know about this festival of interplanetary fun may wish to grab flights, book their cheap hotels and take their last chance to see the show.
