Jazz It Up
Jazz fans have a great reason to head to France in August as the Marciac Jazz festival takes place.
Held every year since 1978, the event will take place from August 1st to the 15th 2007, according to Marciac.net.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in the town will be joining thousands of other fans for an event which regularly attracts some of the greatest names in jazz, with Wynton Marsalis a regular contributor.
With plenty of free concerts, many of them outdoors, the party atmosphere and late nights will lend themselves to several summer days of sheer enjoyment for those who love this kind of music.
Located in the south-west of France, Marciac and its surrounding area have plenty of attractions for visitors, with the gentle rural ambience in a warm climate punctuated with chateaus and vineyards and plenty of chances to enjoy fine food and drink.
