Look Back on Angers
For film fans looking to start the new year in style, the Premier Plans Film Festival takes place in the Loire Valley town of Angers.
Held for the 19th time in 2007, the festival takes place from the 19th to the 28th of January, featuring the best of emerging European talent as young directors take centre stage.
Films come in four categories: European first feature films, European first short films, French first short films and European student films.
Apart from all the films on view, Angers is an attractive town with many interesting aspects in its own right.
With a huge fortress as its centerpiece, Angers has a number of museums such as the Musee de la Communication and the Musee Cointreau, which shows how the famous liqueur is made, to interest those staying in cheap hotels in the town.
Angers also makes a good base for exploring the rest of the picturesque Loire Valley.
