Lyon Nightlife

For a low-key evening, try out Bar Cours des Loges. The bar is located in the hotel and mixes contemporary art and ambient music very well. This grand and splendour bar is located at 6 Rue du Boeuf, 5th.

If you're looking for some live music the Eden Rock Café at 68 Rue Merciere, is the place to head for. The café plays a mixture of rock, blues and funk, live from Wednesday till Saturday and gets very busy.

Late and lively then checkout L' Opera Rock at 7 Rue Terme. You can warm up your vocal chords in the karaoke lounge, then hit the dance floor until the early hours.

This venue is an institution in Lyon, so except big crowds.

If you like your wines, cheeses and meats then look up L' Harmonie des Vins. This great wine bar has a choice of over 300 wines to choose from. The bar is also well known for its local cheeses and cold meats. The wine bar L' Harmonie des Vins is located at 9 Rue Neuve. 1st.

Les Fine Gueles is a classic restaurant cooking regional specialities. Some of the specials they serve are Andouillette local sausages in mustard sauce, and of course frogs legs. The portions here are also very generous beware. The Les Fine Gueles is situated at 16 Rue Lainerie, 5th.

If you are looking for stylish and innovative cuisine then try Les Muses De L' Opera. This restaurant not only offers high quality cuisine, but also fabulous panoramic views of Lyon. You will need to book ahead for this restaurant, so be warned. Les Muses De L'Opera is located at 1 Place de la Comedie. 1st.

Places of Interest in Lyon

Cordeliers is an area that sits between the Bellecour and Terreaux squares. On the parallel streets of Edouard Herriot, Republique and Emile Zola you will find designer and high street shop names. 

Le Parc de la Tete d'or is also known as (Lyons Lung) this park was created in 1856 and is set in 114 hectares that include a zoo, botanical gardens, museum and restaurant. This park is certainly worth a stroll through, in winter or summer.

The market that runs the pathways of Boulevard de la Croix-Rousse (4th) allows you to see a daily French market in full flow.

Getting from the Airport to Lyon

Taxi
There is a taxi rank outside the arrival hall. The journey from the Airport into the city centre will take about 30 minutes and costs about 55 euros.

Bus
You have to catch the Satobus from outside Le Centre, Place Sud into Part- Dieu or Perrache train stations, where you can connect with the Metro. The buses depart every 20 minutes and start at 06.00 and run until 23.20. The journey takes about 45minutes and the cost of a ticket is 8.40 euros one way.
