Nord Bad at All

Nord bad at all Those who fancy seeing some good Scandinavian films can do so by hopping on the ferry and heading across the water…but not necessarily to Scandinavia.

Instead, it is to Normandy that visitors can head for the Festival of Nordic Cinema in the town of Rouen.

Held from March 20th to the 26th, the festival will show a huge variety of works from various north European countries, which includes not just Scandinavia but also the Baltic states and the low countries.

Films are shown in the Gaumont and Le Melville theatres in Rouen.

Apart from the films, visitors staying in cheap hotels in Rouen can enjoy a wide variety of things to see and do.

The town itself has a wide range of historic buildings, from the spacious Palais de Justice (the parliament) to the cathedral of Notre Dame.

A wider tour of Normandy includes a number of sites commemorating the D-Day landings.
