Paris Prepares for Winter Shopping Season
The Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau teamed up with organisations including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Atout France this week to promote the forthcoming launch of the city's winter sales.
From early January, travellers staying in cheap hotels in Paris will be able to take advantage of special offers and discounts at various stores and boutiques in the French capital.
To make shopping trips more interesting, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau has arranged seven itineraries based around themes including fashion, culture and the destination's famous sights.
One route has a 'savvy shopper' theme and focuses on outlets offering bargains, while another features shops that are often visited by the designer Jean-Claude Jitrois.
People planning trips to the city next year can visit the Shopping by Paris website, which features information on special offers, itineraries, competitions and more.
The Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau has also put together a free guide to the destination's shopping scene, which can be downloaded online and will be available at welcome centres from January 2010.
