Paris Visitors Catch Spanish Art Exhibition

Paris visitors catch Spanish art exhibition People who book a cheap hotel in Paris might be interested in a new exhibition on the history of Spanish art.

From March 12th, the Musee Jacquemart-Andre will be displaying 50 rarely-seen portraits and paintings from the Perez Simon Collection, a well-respected Mexican art collector.

Titled From El Greco to Dali, the exhibition will work as a timeline, showing the history of Spanish art through some of the world's best-loved artists from the 16th to the 20th century.

Visitors can see the changing face of Spanish art from the Expressionism and "golden age of sacred paining" belonging to El Greco, through de Ribera, Murillo, Goya, Sorolla, Picasso and Miro and ending with the Surrealist works of Dali.

According to the museum, "displaying these works side by side reveals the continuities and breaks with tradition that has marked the evolution of Spanish art".

The Musee Jacquemart-Andre is situated near the Champs Elysees, allowing visitors to spend time after the exhibition exploring Paris' many shops.
