Paris Voted Top Short Break Destination

Paris has been voted the most popular city for short breaks in Europe amongst people travelling through Stansted Airport, according to a new survey.

As reported by the website travelbite, passengers travelling through the London airport preferred Paris to any other European destination.

Other popular cities include Dublin, Barcelona and Rome, with New York and Beijing proving to be the most popular destinations outside of Europe.

Reasons that Brits chose for voting Paris included it being "the most romantic city in the world", its cultural aspects and its famous landmarks.

"The low-cost airlines have revolutionised travel – especially the short break market with people taking more holidays than ever before," comments Gary Finlayson, Stansted Express route director.

He went on to say that the survey allows the organisation to better understand where people choose to go for short breaks and why.
