PGA European Tour to Swing by Paris
Golf fans staying in cheap hotels in Paris at the beginning of July will be able to head to Le Golf National to see one of the major events on the PGA European Tour.
The Open de France will be held from July 2nd to 5th this year, attracting some of the world's top golfers to the French capital.
A total prize fund of €4 million (£3.6 million) will be available during the event, meaning that there will be plenty of motivation for the players to repeat the achievement of Pablo Larrazabal, who won the competition last year.
Other past winners of the Open de France have included Jose Maria Olazabal, Colin Montgomerie and Retief Goosen.
The event in Paris will be followed by the Barclays Scottish Open in Glasgow before the attention of the golfing world turns to Turnberry in Ayrshire for the 138th Open Championship.
This tournament is one of four golf meetings known collectively as 'the majors', along with the Masters Tournament at Augusta, the US Open and the PGA Championship.
