Pompidou Looks at Louise Bourgeois
This year Paris's Pompidou Centre is hosting an extensive exhibition exploring the work of French artist and sculptor Louise Bourgeois.
The show, which people staying in cheap hotels in Paris will be able to visit until June 2nd, is France's first significant retrospective looking at Bourgeois' work since an exhibition at the Musee d'Art Moderne in 1995.
Around 200 sculptures, paintings, drawings and engravings produced between 1940 and 2007 comprise the display, which has been organised in partnership with London's Tate Modern.
Particular focus will be placed on the artist's ability to perennially refresh her methods of expression and also her work of the past decade.
One of the pieces that Bourgeois is most famous for is Maman, a 30-foot-tall spider that stood outside the Tate Modern last year while the gallery hosted an exhibition looking at the artist's life and work.
The Pompidou Centre is one of the largest and most important galleries in Paris and is known for its striking architectural design.
