Stras the Way to Do It
Art fans looking for an autumn spectacular may have a good reason to head to Strasbourg, as it hosts St-art from November 24th to the 27th.
The festival, which will celebrate its 11th year in 2006, hosts a wide display of top-notch works of art from galleries all over France and other European countries.
Last year, according to the organisers, over 30,000 people turned up to the event.
Aside from the art, Strasbourg has many attractions for visitors, including the spectacular cathedral, the planetarium, the Alsatian Museum (for the region, not the dogs) and take a boat ride on the Rhine.
It has plenty of accommodation, including cheap hotels.
Visitors to the wider Alsace-Lorraine region will be able to enjoy a rich culture of food, art and history.
The region was once part of Germany, making trips across the border another touring option.
